Hello welcome to my Deadliest Catch Yaoi page AKA my Alaskan Crab Fishing Oc page. This story follows two crews- one lead by Jeans (Eugene D. Kastch), one by a female captain, and a helicopter pilot from the US Coast Guard (Sunny). Their story takes place around 2006, before stricter safety standards were put in place for commercial crab fishing and injury-even death- was common.

I'm (obviously) inspired by Discovery Channel's Deadliest Catch, which continues to air since its first season in April 2005. Other inspirations include the golden age of arctic/antarctic exploration, specifically the Belgica Antarctic Expedition where anything and everything went wrong, and all but two survived. Other expeditions I find facinating include Shackleton's famous journey with the Endurance, and the famous Scott/Amundsen race to the South Pole in 1911.

Captain Jeans's boat, the Paradise Phantom

A boat recently refloated after an accident, the details on *why* it sunk are still blurry, but Jeans got it for a good deal.

Eugene (Jeans) D. Katsch

Yeah his name D. Katsch is supposed to be like. Deadliest Catch. But everyone just calls him Jeans.

Captain of the fishing vessel Paradise Phantom. He is a tad sad and has a crush on Sunny (Sunshine), the Coast Guard S.A.R. (search and rescue) guy that helped him when his previous boat was capsizing. Also has a fruity thing going on with Elizabeth, his rival crab fishing captain.

Jeans is superstitious as hell. His worst fears are losing his men to the ocean. Despite this, his men still perform difficult and dangerous work with the equipment they have. In recent years, his crew have been struggling to have a good fishing season.

Likes: The kind of music your dad thinks is 'cool' (Bon Jovi, Metallica, Journey), Yelling at his crew, Penguins, Smoking, drinking, not wearing a shirt in 30 degree weather, Having a gay fruity relationship with other queers in Alaska, Being put in survival situations. Except when its not fun

Dislikes: Feeling warm, Illegal crab poaching, Boat engine repairs, losing his men to the ocean :(

Eugene is technically an alternate universe version of Victor Hedrom except instead of suffering from a traumatic experience with frostbite, he actually loves the cold and will take any moment to take off his shirt in the snow and be a weird old man about it. He is still cranky and crazy and a little bit of a hardass.

Wears: Survival suit, cute grandpa sweaters, denim pants, tshirts with wolves on them (you know the ones), but really he can wear anything.
